- Keep a Consistent Room Temperature
Room temperature is crucial for preventing overheating and allowing bubbles to escape. Aim to maintain a temperature of approximately 24°C throughout the entire process, as this enables bubbles to be released more efficiently.
If your pour necessitates a lower room temperature to avoid overheating, note that bubble release might be less effective. In such instances, you may want to consider using a product with a higher recommended maximum pour depth to maintain the ideal 24°C temperature during curing, if optimal bubble-release is desired. The layering technique can also be employed if needed.
- Warm the Epoxy Resin Before Mixing
Pre-warming your epoxy resin before mixing can help minimize bubbles. To do this, place the resin and hardener bottles in a plastic bag and submerge them in a warm water bath for 5-10 minutes. Ensure the water is hot but not boiling. The plastic bag protects the labels and prevents water from getting inside the bottles. Be cautious not to overheat the resin, as it can reduce its pot time.
- Gently and Thoroughly Mix Your Epoxy Resin
It's vital to mix epoxy resin gently and thoroughly to prevent introducing too much air. Scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing container to incorporate all elements, but refrain from vigorous stirring that could produce additional bubbles.
